Fernando Prassov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 4th minute of the match. Fernando Prassov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was a well-played corner which Agustín Saelices managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Norte's goalkeeper Fernando Prassov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Club Deportivo Norte's Fernando Prassov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Prassov having to interfere. In the 17th match minute, Club Deportivo Norte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mete Gambetta to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Prassov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernando Prassov was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Fernando Prassov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 28 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Mete Gambetta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Deportivo Norte's supporters rose to their feet, but Mete Gambetta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 35 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Norte's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Fernando Prassov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernando Prassov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 36th minute of play. Fernando Prassov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
54 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Benedicto Savier came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernando Prassov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 57th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Savier in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Fernando Prassov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Marco Mederi fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Deportivo Norte's protests and gave Marco Mederi a yellow card for diving instead. Marco Mederi hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Fernando Prassov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 73rd minute. In the 77th minute, Club Deportivo Norte's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Benedicto Savier struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Deportivo Norte. The referee showed Daniel Zorita the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Club Deportivo Norte booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 82nd minute of play forced Club Deportivo Norte's goalkeeper Fernando Prassov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Esteban Gonchan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Fernando Prassov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Fernando Prassov managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Fernando Prassov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Club Deportivo Norte.
