Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of play forced Ranelagh F.C.'s goalkeeper Francisco Behe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. 25 minutes in the game, Eusebio Mattin fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Julio Vera having to interfere. Francisco Behe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armando Aznar. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebio Mattin, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Eusebio Mattin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Eusebio Mattin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. In the 50th minute, Armando Aznar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Francisco Behe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armando Aznar in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Behe having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Eusebio Mattin notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ranelagh F.C. made a substitution. Federico Oto replaced Emilio Solustiano. In the 92nd minute, Cirilo Geofredo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ranelagh F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Ecuador's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
