Facundo Cadaval took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicolae Tilihoi. Nicolae Tilihoi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by SOFiNiN KEDiSi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haydar Dizdar, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mustafa Hakan Yiğitoğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Haydar Dizdar to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. In the 60th minute Barbaros Sıratullah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. 95 minutes into the match, Haydar Dizdar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Haydar Dizdar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. Despite being the better team, Mexico failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
