With a little luck, Curacao's Bruno Barrett got control of the ball when Anísio Vale tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Stanley Wallace had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bertie Johnson lost his temper 10 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave São Bento a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Murillo Ferreira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Curacao's Bruno Barrett. 1-0. After a rather tough play, Curacao's Rocco Owen got a free kick in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Curacao's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Botelho came free, but Bruno Barrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 20 minutes, Lochlan Newman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Curacao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lochlan Newman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Curacao's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Botelho came free, but Bruno Barrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruno Barrett came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by São Bento's Anísio Vale. But to his dismay, Anísio Vale quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Curacao's Bruno Barrett proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Curacao from getting a goal against them. Bruno Barrett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Fernandes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rocco Owen charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rocco Owen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 31 played minutes Curacao got a freekick which was hit by Rocco Owen. Bruno Barrett made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anísio Vale in the 36th minute. If Humberto Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Curacao's Charles Cox got a free kick in the 45th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Curacao's zone, Murillo Ferreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Barrett came out of the goal and Murillo Ferreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bruno Barrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

The wind increased when Stanley Wallace made the kick off in the second half. Humberto Fernandes kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Stanley Wallace could shoot a difficult shot in the 59th minute, which Maurício Veiga however easily saved by the left post. São Bento's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Curacao the free kick. In the 76th match minute, São Bento was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anísio Vale to maneuver through the defense. Troy Kennedy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Maurício Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Curacao getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Marshall Graham hit a great ball. Bruno Barrett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anísio Vale in the 89th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Stanley Wallace dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Maurício Veiga, 2-1. São Bento's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
