The São Bento fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurício Veiga should have stopped the shot. Lochlan Newman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Maurício Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanley Wallace in the 17th minute of play forced São Bento's goalkeeper Maurício Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Kyle Davies came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Curacao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kyle Davies couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Charles Cox during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Charles Cox hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Murillo Ferreira struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Bruno Barrett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for São Bento. Bruno Barrett came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by São Bento's Anísio Vale. But to his dismay, Anísio Vale quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Maurício Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stanley Wallace, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, São Bento's Afonso Recife got a free kick in the 44th minute. Bruno Barrett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Fernandes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Humberto Fernandes made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in São Bento's zone, Marshall Graham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurício Veiga came out of the goal and Marshall Graham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bruno Barrett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anísio Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, Stanley Wallace notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of São Bento's Maurício Veiga. Maurício Veiga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. São Bento's Maurício Veiga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save São Bento from getting a goal against them. After 67 minutes, Afonso Recife mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the São Bento and the Curacao players grew even worse after the yellow card. Afonso Recife kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Stanley Wallace got in the 70th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Maurício Veiga handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After a rather tough play, São Bento's Arthur Pena got a free kick in the 75th minute. Maurício Veiga made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Kyle Davies sent off a good shot on target. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, São Bento's goal looked a bit too open when Kyle Davies came free, but Maurício Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maurício Veiga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stanley Wallace in the 93rd minute. Bruno Barrett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anísio Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
