A throw-in in the 8th minute of the game was made by Leonardo Paz with Florentino Nabar as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélio Nascimento in the 10th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Lechuguitas F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Cesare Cardillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cesare Cardillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milagros Fraga in the 14th minute of the match. In the 15th minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cesare Cardillo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Lechuguitas F.C.'s Cesare Cardillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 18th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Milagros Fraga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cesare Cardillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute, Eliseo Mina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute Hélio Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Leonardo Paz in the 29th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. The supporters of Lechuguitas F.C. booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Nascimento in the 34th minute of play. Hélio Nascimento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lechuguitas F.C.'s goalkeeper Cesare Cardillo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

Lechuguitas F.C.'s Armando Santiago was substituted for Leonardo Paz. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hélio Nascimento to strike the kick off in the second half. Lechuguitas F.C.'s attentive Florian Corales managed to snatch the ball when Eliseo Mina made a throw-in in the 62nd minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luz Tejedor got free with Cesare Cardillo in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 82nd minute Eliseo Mina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesare Cardillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Milagros Fraga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Cesare Cardillo made a huge save. Milagros Fraga received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cesare Cardillo came out and tried to block the shot, but Milagros Fraga slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 88th minute. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. 93 minutes into the match, Lechuguitas F.C.'s goalkeeper Cesare Cardillo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonio Tenorio. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
