An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 22nd minute of play forced Vanadio F.C.'s goalkeeper Paulin Sequeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Errapel Hernando made in the 24th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. A collision led to Vanadio F.C. getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Servando Ariztimuño hit a great ball. After 26 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Fraga. A throw-in in the 28th minute of the game was made by Errapel Hernando with Giraldo Bermudez as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gordon Suarez in the 29th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Gordon Suarez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Gordon Suarez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gordon Suarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 44th minute of play forced Vanadio F.C.'s goalkeeper Paulin Sequeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. In the 60th minute Gaspar Rocio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Paulin Sequeiros made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Rafael Gallo sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Peru eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
