Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) SE Palestra Itália's Betão Vargas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clayton Sergi in the 5th minute. Primitivo Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Clayton Sergi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Tony Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 32 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Clayton Sergi in the 34thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Clayton Sergi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. In the 37th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Tony Chaves. SE Palestra Itália's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 41st minute Betão Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, SE Palestra Itália's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Tony Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The SE Palestra Itália players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão Vargas in the 87th minute of play. Bruno Campon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
