Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betão Vargas in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 5th minute of the match SE Palestra Itália got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bruno Dias ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Bruno Dias almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Chile's Thiago Pliego did a great save. 16 minutes into the match, SE Palestra Itália's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Tony Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Chaves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 17th minute of play. SE Palestra Itália's Caetano Félix got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edson Fernandes hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the game, Chile's Mariano Lacasa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tony Chaves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tony Chaves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 43rd minute of play forced SE Palestra Itália's goalkeeper Tony Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tony Chaves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Betão Vargas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betão Vargas in the 51st minute of play. SE Palestra Itália made a substitution. Richard Mendes replaced Clayton Sergi. Thiago Pliego didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bruno Campon went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Mendes in the 62nd minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tony Chaves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Mariano Lacasa took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Tony Chaves to make any attempt to save it. SE Palestra Itália made a substitution. Cristóvão Madureira replaced Acar Buğrahan. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind SE Palestra Itália's goalkeeper Tony Chaves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 71 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tony Chaves, 2-3. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. SE Palestra Itália's Tony Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 79th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of Tony Chaves when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 85th minute, Chile's Mariano Lacasa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. After 90 minutes of play, SE Palestra Itália's Betão Vargas made it 3-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thiago Pliego was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chile's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
