Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Leandro Marques made the kick off and thus started the match. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Fulco Urra put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rolando Noboa. In the 11th minute, Julian Murillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fulco Urra got free with Rolando Noboa in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fulco Urra in the 14th minute of the match. Salvador Ortega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 15th minute of play. Salvador Ortega stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. Peru's Luz Tejedor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Salvador Ortega in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 24 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Salvador Ortega narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andolín Echeandía in the 26th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Ayudha á Bø in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Efraim Gilabert. Salvador Ortega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milagros Fraga in the 35th minute of play. After 36 minutes Lautaro L.P.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Eliseo Mina hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Salvador Ortega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ayudha á Bø made in the 57th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Fulco Urra however managed to control. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Salvador Ortega successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 63 played minutes Lautaro L.P. got a freekick which was hit by Ayudha á Bø. Lautaro L.P.'s Damián Angulo was substituted for Leandro Marques. 81 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Andolín Echeandía came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 87 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Fraga. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Milagros Fraga hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulco Urra in the 91st minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Peru players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
