The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lázár Erdélyi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 6 minutes into the game, Oséias Melo lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Joaquin Gayoso. Camilo Franco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquin Gayoso had great luck who in the 14thth minute grab hold of the ball when Oséias Melo from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oséias Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute, Jean Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisco Seco took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lázár Erdélyi. Lázár Erdélyi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oséias Melo's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the match, Oséias Melo notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lázár Erdélyi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 27th minute of the match. When Primitivo Frasco fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Se7e's protests and gave Primitivo Frasco a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Se7e getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Primitivo Frasco hit a great ball. In the 31st minute, Oséias Melo made a precise shot to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. In the 35th minute Oséias Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oséias Melo went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. 41 minutes into the match, Se7e's goal looked a bit too open when Camilo Franco came free, but Lázár Erdélyi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Seco to make the kick off. Lázár Erdélyi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 52nd minute. Alberto Gisbert hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Oséias Melo struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Se7e. In the 57th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. Arturo Carvallo hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oséias Melo's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oséias Melo in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 70th match minute, Se7e was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Augusto Torres to maneuver through the defense. Jaime Cazalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joaquin Gayoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oséias Melo went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Jean Ramos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Se7e's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean Ramos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 85th play minutes Oséias Melo shot 6-1, a short shot which went by Joaquin Gayoso and just under the crossbar into goal. The supporters of Se7e booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Se7e had won after a very even match.
