Jardel Queiroz came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ubelteso Amandi kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita succeeded in the game's 19th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Doni Catarinense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toro Junior in the 24th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toro Junior, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by AE Uruguaianense's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jardel Queiroz quite easily take care of the ball. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 31 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Carlos Arantes came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jardel Queiroz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cristian Sancho scored 0-2 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jardel Queiroz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Arantes in the 41st minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Toro Junior to strike the kick off in the second half. AE Uruguaianense's Jardel Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 52nd minute of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ubelteso Amandi kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Jardel Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of AE Uruguaianense booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Arantes in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AE Uruguaianense.
