After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Luz Tejedor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Luz Tejedor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luciano Abastas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Boldenona's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Alonso Berganza heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Luciano Abastas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alonso Berganza in the 37th minute of the match. Luciano Abastas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidro Cordarrell in the 42nd minute of the match. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Quentin Ladra's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute.
