Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonardo Chico in the 4th minute. After 5 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. In the 6th minute Federico Aimar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Deuce Athletic Club's Leonardo Chico in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. In the 20th minute, Federico Aimar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deuce Athletic Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 26 minutes into the game, Federico Aimar recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Federico Aimar showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. After 30 minutes, Abel Carballo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Deuce Athletic Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 32 minutes into the game, Leonardo Chico cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Federico Aimar in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Leonardo Chico got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 5-0. Thanks to some nice moves Leonardo Chico could shoot a difficult shot in the 39th minute, which Benito Sanz however easily saved by the left post. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Federico Aimar capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Federico Aimar really showed his touch with that goal: 6-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 7-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonardo Chico was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Federico Aimar in the 51st minute of the match. 54 minutes into the game, Federico Aimar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 9-0 when Federico Aimar sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. 63 minutes into the match, Federico Aimar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Federico Aimar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 11-0. 67 minutes into the game, Federico Aimar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 12-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 70 minutes into the match, Federico Aimar notched a goal, 13-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 78th play minutes Federico Aimar shot 14-0, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. 81 minutes into the match, Leonardo Chico notched a goal, 15-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 84th minute, Federico Aimar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 16-0. In the 89th minute Leonardo Chico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 92 minutes of play, Deuce Athletic Club's Tadeo Iraitz made it 17-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Deuce Athletic Club's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
