Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. José Vítor Passos started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute Moises Fernandino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Piovezan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 5 played minutes Itajaí Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Abreu. André Piovezan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 7th minute of play. Itajaí Football Club's André Piovezan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Luque in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute of the match El Salvador got a corner. Itajaí Football Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mateo Leguizamo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led El Salvador's Mateo Leguizamo to fire away a dangerous shot which André Piovezan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. André Piovezan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 12th minute of play. With 15 minutes on the clock, Carlos de Moraes commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Itajaí Football Club! In the 19th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Yepes to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Zorita acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 19th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Wiliam Quintal. Moises Fernandino took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised André Piovezan. André Piovezan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. André Piovezan came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by El Salvador's Abram Luque. But to his dismay, Abram Luque quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After a rather tough play, Itajaí Football Club's Norberto Abreu got a free kick in the 28th minute. Moises Fernandino took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised André Piovezan. André Piovezan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Itajaí Football Club's André Piovezan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Luque in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Mateo Leguizamo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Moises Fernandino to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Itajaí Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Luque came free, but André Piovezan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 55 minutes into the game, Norberto Abreu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Abram Luque hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Itajaí Football Club's José Vítor Passos got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Vítor Passos in the 74th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 78 minutes, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Salvador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Fernandino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Itajaí Football Club's Narciso Severo got a free kick in the 81st minute. Norberto Abreu struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Ricardo Zorita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itajaí Football Club. Moises Fernandino in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of André Piovezan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 92nd minute, Luis Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christiano Cearense's late challenge caught a El Salvador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christiano Cearense helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Itajaí Football Club getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Christiano Cearense hit a great ball. The El Salvador supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing El Salvador would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
