The referee felt a red card was in order, 32 minutes into the game, when Robustiano Pfingsthorn put in a rough tackle. Demetrio Amesti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 37th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Eliseo Noboa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Demetrio Amesti. That made the score 1-0 in the 38 minute of play. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Neil in the 45th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Costa Rica's Axel Tasis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Demetrio Amesti. That made the score 2-0 after 47 minutes of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes of play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Demetrio Amesti was left in no man's land by his defense there! Demetrio Amesti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 56th minute of the match. In the 60th minute Lautaro Puig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demetrio Amesti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 61st minute. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Francisco Ross in the 68th minute of play. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Neil in the 70th minute of play. C.F. Leftraro's Demetrio Amesti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 74th minute of play. Arnaldo Neil struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.F. Leftraro. Arnaldo Neil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Francisco Ross, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball.
