If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 梅超浩 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 梅超浩 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of the match. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. 梅超浩 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erlandas Bačkys in the 25th minute of play. In the 30th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 梅超浩 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Sigve Konradsen sent off a good shot on target. 梅超浩 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 蒋思弘, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 梅超浩 having to interfere.

Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 蒋思弘, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute FC Druskininkai were awarded a corner. 蒋思弘 went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of FC Druskininkai booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Beržas Dirmeikis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Beržas Dirmeikis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 66 minutes, Erlandas Bačkys made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC Druskininkai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iigo Conchas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 梅超浩 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarūnas Sidabras in the 81st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Beržas Dirmeikis managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Druskininkai's supporters rose to their feet, but Beržas Dirmeikis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 88th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. 96 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Erlandas Bačkys came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
