Neron Abastas succeeded in the game's 34th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-4. In the 40th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lon Abechuco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Bela Abeitia dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 3-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 3-4 lead.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lon Abechuco. That made the score 3-5 in the 51 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Real Potosí's Bela Abeitia got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After having played for 57 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Lon Abechuco made a huge save. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bela Abeitia in the 63rd minute of the match. Gustavo Zapata's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustavo Zapata helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Real Potosí's Gustavo Zapata got a free kick in the 64th minute. 65 minutes into the match, Real Potosí's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Lon Abechuco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Real Potosí made a substitution. Gilen Abeitia replaced Gustavo Quinteros. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neron Abastas in the 78th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Real Potosí were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Duarte Abarca took the corner. The corner led Real Potosí's Pirro Abar to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Real Potosí's Lon Abechuco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 81st minute of play. Bela Abeitia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Real Potosí made a substitution. Iparragirre Abastas replaced Neron Abastas. With a little luck, Real Potosí's Lon Abechuco got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lon Abechuco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th match minute, Real Potosí was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pirro Abar to maneuver through the defense. Lon Abechuco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bela Abeitia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Real Potosí.
