In the 15thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but los nadies's Camilo Isauro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Camilo Isauro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Juan Laffitte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Juan Laffitte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 29th minute. Amadeo Martxel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Jonathan Ferrant skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 32 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
