Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Maurinho Mendonça received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pedro Manzanares came out and tried to block the shot, but Maurinho Mendonça slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. Qu Lei Chang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Maurinho Mendonça tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 30th minute of the match Claretiano FC got a corner. Colombia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ruben Malta ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Ruben Malta got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pedro Manzanares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Birila Graña having to make a save. In the 41st minute of the match, Maurinho Mendonça tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedro Manzanares saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Axel Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Birila Graña didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Claretiano FC's Birila Graña played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santino Seco in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Favila Ribadas made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The supporters of Colombia booed when Claretiano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmu Torre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 68 minutes, Birila Graña successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Claretiano FC made a substitution. Gelacio Salceda replaced Qu Lei Chang. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. The throw-in from Manu Betancur in the 73rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. Birila Graña made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abram Secada in the 77th minute. Abram Secada's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 80thth minute, Birila Graña skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Birila Graña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santino Seco in the 82nd minute of play. In the 87th minute, Dalmu Torre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 88 minutes into the match, Claretiano FC's goalkeeper Birila Graña had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abram Secada. With an all-out effort, Colombia's Birila Graña threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kevin Mastache, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Ignacio Mastache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Colombia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
