Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. Zeledon Sol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Urtats breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gabriel Urtats was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. 10 minutes into the match, Areco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Gabriel Urtats reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Urtats saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Urtats having to interfere. Agustin Abaunza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Areco FC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Urtats came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gabriel Urtats showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 29th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Areco FC's zone, Agustín Saelices stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Urtats came out of the goal and Agustín Saelices tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zeledon Sol to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Luis Andino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gabriel Urtats. That made the score 0-2 after 51 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Areco FC's Aquiles Pirro got a free kick in the 61st minute. Agustín Saelices struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Gabriel Urtats didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Gabriel Urtats tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Ecuador's Cristian Sancho getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 80 minutes, Zeledon Sol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Areco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zeledon Sol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gabriel Urtats showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 85th minute of the match. After 90 played minutes Areco FC got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Gines. A collision led to Areco FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Zeledon Sol hit a great ball.
