Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. Walery Balkiewicz came out of the goal and Julian Murillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tancredo Hondaro in the 82nd minute of play. Walery Balkiewicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 83rd minute of play. Walery Balkiewicz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Emmanuel Reyes made in the 91st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Antonio Tenorio however managed to control.
