Jakub Ziombkowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Inter de Guayaquil FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Humberto Barragan in the 10th minute. Axel Montenegro hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Humberto Barragan from long distance, 11 minutes into the match, got Pedro Manzanares's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Sebastian Hellkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 12th minute of play. When Colombia's Abram Sarmiento, in the 13th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. If Éric Cantona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mateusz Giertych fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jakub Ziombkowski in the 18th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Humberto Barragan in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Manzanares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Barragan in the 23rd minute of play. After 24 played minutes Inter de Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Saffet Ataergin. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Saffet Ataergin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Saffet Ataergin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastian Hellkvist having to make a save. Sebastian Hellkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santino Seco in the 35th minute of play. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Éric Cantona in the 39th minute of play. Sebastian Hellkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santino Seco in the 42nd minute of play. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Humberto Barragan tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Inter de Guayaquil FC's Jörn Svartengren was substituted for Jakub Ziombkowski. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Lorenzo Acutain was substituted for Éric Cantona. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jörn Svartengren was the one to do the kick off. Axel Montenegro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Sebastian Hellkvist skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörn Svartengren in the 58th minute of play. In the 69th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Hellkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Sebastian Hellkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastian Hellkvist made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Axel Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. After 82 played minutes Inter de Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Celso Inguma. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Hellkvist, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 93rd minute Jörn Svartengren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abram Secada to maneuver through the defense. When the referee ended the match the Inter de Guayaquil FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
