In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Club A. Chipa y Tereré's goalkeeper Xie Chao Cheng, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Xiao Jing Kun hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Club A. Chipa y Tereré was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregorio Elixio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xie Chao Cheng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Cabral in the 27th minute of play. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot.
