Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 2nd minute of play forced Frontera AFC's goalkeeper Agustín Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frontera AFC's Agustín Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 7th minute of play. After 10 minutes Frontera AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Ecuador's Luis Andino was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Agustín Rossi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Agustín Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Naohiro Takahara went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Naohiro Takahara in the 23rd minute. Naohiro Takahara might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Naohiro Takahara ran back to his position shaking his head. Changeez Zeballos kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Cristian Sancho sped through Frontera AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Agustín Rossi. Agustín Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After having played for 38 minutes, Naohiro Takahara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Frontera AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Naohiro Takahara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Agustín Rossi came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Luis Andino. But to his dismay, Luis Andino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. When Primitivo Andino fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Primitivo Andino a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The crowd rose to their feet as Felix Montenegro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Agustín Rossi. That made the score 1-4 in the 51 minute of play. Agustín Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 53rd minute of the match. Agustín Rossi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 54th minute. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Agustín Rossi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Agustín Rossi in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Agustín Rossi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 65th match minute, Frontera AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Naohiro Takahara to maneuver through the defense. Frontera AFC's Gonzalo Pacifico was substituted for Celso Betadur. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Frontera AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naohiro Takahara didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agustín Rossi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 75th minute. With his leg Agustín Rossi managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Naohiro Takahara might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Naohiro Takahara ran back to his position shaking his head. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naohiro Takahara in the 81st minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naohiro Takahara in the 84th minute of play. When Daniel Zorita got free in front of the goal in the 86th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Agustín Rossi was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naohiro Takahara in the 91st minute of play. In the 92nd match minute, Frontera AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Changeez Zeballos to maneuver through the defense. After 93 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. In the 95th minute, Juan Sebastián Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
