The audience was convinced that Luizão Peixoto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Marcelinho Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 59th minute of play. Marcelinho Abraão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Jonathan Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Marcelinho Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 89th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. 95 minutes in the game Kléberson Gomes did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Aírton Oliveira. Karaboudjan walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
