Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juaneizu Merida having to make a save. In the 10th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juaneizu Merida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nacional's Camilo Candido managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Antonio Indiano in the 13 minute of the game. Juaneizu Merida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Montenegro in the 15th minute of the match. If Grabiel Escorcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 29 minutes of play, Nacional's Grabiel Escorcia made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nacional's Juaneizu Merida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 35th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Colombia's Axel Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Juaneizu Merida made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 41 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Grabiel Escorcia came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Grabiel Escorcia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Grabiel Escorcia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abram Sarmiento made a kick off. Juaneizu Merida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 52nd minute of the match. Nacional's supporters crossed their fingers, but Grabiel Escorcia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 8-4 became the score in the 95th minute when Ignacio Mastache elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Nacional were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Colombia for a fine match.
