With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Karaboudjan's Fernandinho Albuquerque fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Karaboudjan's Marcelinho Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute of play. Marcelinho Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 21st minute of the match. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. In the 36th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelinho Abraão was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Marcelinho Abraão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizão Peixoto in the 56th minute of play. Wilson Bezerra kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 63rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcelinho Abraão could save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Marcelinho Abraão in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 68th minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcelinho Abraão. The goal made the score 0-3. Marcelinho Abraão made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 72nd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcelinho Abraão despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernandinho Albuquerque, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After 78 played minutes Karaboudjan got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Godoi. Karaboudjan's Marcelinho Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 84th minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. In the 96th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Marcelinho Abraão. Karaboudjan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. The Karaboudjan fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
