If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramiro Matei struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edgardo Ariando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 31st minute. Fabricio Larpe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. The supporters of Società Vigata Calcio booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Edgardo Ariando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alex Chicote kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Matei came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edgardo Ariando. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Società Vigata Calcio's Edgardo Ariando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 86th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramiro Matei in the 92nd minute.
