In the 3rd minute, Hernan Socorro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barrialito AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 7th minute, Luis Andino made a precise shot to the right of Cristo Elivareo. Barrialito AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Cristo Elivareo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cristo Elivareo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 23rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Elivareo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Barrialito AFC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernan Socorro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Jacinto Raitin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Jacinto Raitin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 54 minutes into the match, Barrialito AFC's goalkeeper Cristo Elivareo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. With a little luck, Barrialito AFC's Cristo Elivareo got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 61st minute of the match, Luis Andino tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cristo Elivareo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Barrialito AFC defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristo Elivareo. The Barrialito AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristo Elivareo should have stopped the shot.
