The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Rubio helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Luis Rubio hit a great ball. Ricardo Zorita acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 5th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Thomas Vibjörnsson. In the 7th minute, Moises Fernandino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karl Wallin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Zippys Talanger's Karl Wallin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Fernandino in the 11th minute of play. When Moises Fernandino came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the El Salvador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Fernandino couldn't finish the play. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vincent Lundgren in the 21st minute of the match. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save El Salvador from getting a goal against them. Lorenzo Yepes hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. El Salvador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Vincent Lundgren scored to the left of an out of position Ricardo Zorita, making the score, 1-1. Valentino Ferrant hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. The long shot by Thomas Vibjörnsson in the 36th minute really tested Ricardo Zorita's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Zippys Talanger was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stig Haegg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vincent Lundgren charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hubert Dahlgren to make the kick off. Vincent Lundgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Moises Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentino Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute, Thomas Vibjörnsson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita didn't even have to move. Marco Tamayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gustav Grönberg during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sven-Ove Ahlkvist hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Abram Luque managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but Abram Luque was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karl Wallin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 92nd match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abram Luque to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute, Moises Fernandino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
