Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. After having played for 8 minutes, Fernanco Peso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Cristal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernanco Peso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jon Iruegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Quiroga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Fernanco Peso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Apostol Sokolov was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Ivon Curiel kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Apostol Sokolov made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Fernanco Peso sent off a good shot on target. Claudio Quiroga struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Jon Iruegas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monitor Huáscar. Carlos Galván got a throw-in 43 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Nazario Arechavala. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Claudio Quiroga made the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Monitor Huáscar's Claudio Quiroga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jon Iruegas. That made the score 1-1 after 55 minutes of play. Monitor Huáscar's Bernardinho Bala was substituted for Paulo Fallabes. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Jon Iruegas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 72nd minute, Claudinei Suarbol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute Claudio Quiroga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon Iruegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute, Claudio Quiroga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
