Raphael Peres was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 13 played minutes Chapadao Rs got a freekick which was hit by Ediberto Sá. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play forced Chapadao Rs's goalkeeper Raphael Peres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raphael Peres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute of the match, Igor Michalski tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 25 minutes into the match, Chapadao Rs's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Raphael Peres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Felix Montes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Raphael Peres in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Raphael Peres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Chapadao Rs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Igor Michalski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Michalski in the 43rd minute of play. The Chapadao Rs players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Igor Michalski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Chapadao Rs's Erasmo Iratze got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Michalski, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ariel Rafe in the 65th minute of play. Agustín Saelicess short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Raphael Peres to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 72nd minute Igor Michalski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Raphael Peres made a huge save. When Ariel Rafe fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chapadao Rs's protests and gave Ariel Rafe a yellow card for diving instead. Ariel Rafe hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Chapadao Rs's Raphael Peres got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line.
