Esmeraldas S.C.'s Aguinaga Nebot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zdzislaw Gierlach in the 3rd minute of play. Aguinaga Nebot was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 5th match minute, !HalaMadrid! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olaf Soroka to maneuver through the defense. Ruperto Santio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefanos Terzopoulos in the 6th minute of play. Aguinaga Nebot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernd Beike, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernd Beike in the 13th minute of play forced Esmeraldas S.C.'s goalkeeper Aguinaga Nebot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Olaf Soroka was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 46 minutes had been played. The supporters of Esmeraldas S.C. booed when !HalaMadrid! was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olaf Soroka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. İbrahim Volkan was the one to do the kick off. Bernd Beike charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a rather tough play, Esmeraldas S.C.'s Pinto Cubria got a free kick in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zachariasz Ptaszek in the 64th minute of play forced Esmeraldas S.C.'s goalkeeper Aguinaga Nebot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the game, İbrahim Volkan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Ruperto Santio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 74th minute Wit Dynda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aguinaga Nebot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The !HalaMadrid! fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ruperto Santio should have stopped the shot. 84 minutes into the match, Esmeraldas S.C.'s goalkeeper Aguinaga Nebot had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zachariasz Ptaszek. In the 86th minute, Pinto Cubria made a precise shot to the right of Ruperto Santio. !HalaMadrid!'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Ruperto Santio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Castillo went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Wit Dynda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aguinaga Nebot was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Damian Maftei during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Esmeraldas S.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
