Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mauro Primeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Leonardo Leoz hit a great ball. After 86 played minutes, Poli Timisoara's Horst-Peter Unterberger shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dante Lacasa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Poli Timisoara reached it.
