Julio Vera came out of the goal and Joshua Cumming tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Joshua Cumming kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. When Gogo Lopes came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the OxentePaisa Salcity fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gogo Lopes couldn't finish the play. 29 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vello Landi. OxentePaisa Salcity's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1.
