Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) In the 8thth minute of the game Marino Malet who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Velasco Rollan in the 10th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Sociedad Anónima's Velasco Rollan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 15 minutes Uruguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Niva Bruna who took care of the corner kick. Niva Bruna made a great header on Sociedad Anónima's corner, it was just that Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso managed to reach the ball for a save. When Sengrat Nazario came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Sociedad Anónima fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sengrat Nazario couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Sociedad Anónima's zone, Francisco Seco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gianluigi Buffon came out of the goal and Francisco Seco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 23rd minute, Velasco Rollan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marino Malet in the 24th minute of play. Camilo Franco kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Sociedad Anónima's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Maximiliano Escribano scored to the left of an out of position Gianluigi Buffon, making the score, 1-1. After 30 minutes of play, Sociedad Anónima's Velasco Rollan made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marino Malet in the 33rd minute of the match. Alberto Gisbert struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Gianluigi Buffon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. After a rather tough play, Sociedad Anónima's David Agra got a free kick in the 37th minute. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Velasco Rollan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. With an all-out effort, Uruguay's Gianluigi Buffon threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jaime Cazalla, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Velasco Rollan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marino Malet to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Velasco Rollan in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Velasco Rollan took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Joaquin Gayoso to make any attempt to save it. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Velasco Rollan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. 63 minutes into the game, Velasco Rollan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-7. Joaquin Gayoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 72 minutes into the match, Sociedad Anónima's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Escribano came free, but Gianluigi Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Larren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Sociedad Anónima's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Gianluigi Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Uruguay lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
