An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute of play forced Santhiagos Feli Club's goalkeeper Baldomero Urbasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santhiagos Feli Club's Baldomero Urbasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of play. Pablo Firmo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 28 minutes, Matias Dimas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santhiagos Feli Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matias Dimas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Santhiagos Feli Club's Baldomero Urbasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baldomero Urbasa was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Baldomero Urbasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Santhiagos Feli Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 76th minute Clemente Mitxel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Santhiagos Feli Club.
