Boca Juniors's Jaime Gómez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kyle Davies in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Tomaso Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Curacao's Kyle Davies got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rocco Owen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Boca Juniors fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! Victor Calderón fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Barrett having to interfere. Boca Juniors's Cesar Pimentel suffered a concussion in the 35th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. 35 minutes into the game, Stanley Wallace was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Curacao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boca Juniors the free kick. Boca Juniors made a substitution. Toto Benavides replaced Cesar Pimentel. After a rather tough play, Curacao's Stanley Wallace got a free kick in the 37th minute. After some careless play in the Curacao defense, Jonathan Palma kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruno Barrett. The Curacao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Barrett should have stopped the shot. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After a defensive mix-up in Boca Juniors's zone, Troy Kennedy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Gómez came out of the goal and Troy Kennedy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Tomaso Garcia got a free kick in the 65th minute. A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Tomaso Castro hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Stanley Wallace came free, but Jaime Gómez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Troy Kennedy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Curacao's supporters rose to their feet, but Troy Kennedy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Gómez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kyle Davies fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Gómez having to interfere. Jaime Gómez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyle Davies, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stanley Wallace sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 91 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Kyle Davies came free, but Jaime Gómez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
