Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Inocencio Frichoso made the kick off which started today's match. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 8 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edelmiro Veremundo who took care of the corner kick. Venancio Oto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Inocencio Frichoso sent off a good shot on target. In the 12th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Venancio Oto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Venancio Oto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 22nd minute of play. Punta Alvear's Venancio Oto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Venancio Oto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Punta Alvear's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Venancio Oto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venancio Oto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of the match. Jacinto Eleazar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Venancio Oto having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Punta Alvear's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Venancio Oto came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ermegildo Heriberto in the 46th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 51st minute, Jacinto Eleazar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 55th match minute, Punta Alvear was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingo Cordarrel to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 59 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inocencio Frichoso in the 61st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Punta Alvear's goalkeeper Venancio Oto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 64th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After having played for 71 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Punta Alvear's Venancio Oto got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermegildo Heriberto in the 76th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Venancio Oto. That made the score 1-2 in the 82 minute of play. With a little luck, Punta Alvear's Venancio Oto got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 86th minute. A nice corner shot did that Felix Montes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Venancio Oto quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 88th match minute, Punta Alvear was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bogdan Gopov to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute of the match, Luis Andino tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Venancio Oto saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 93rd minute Inocencio Frichoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Punta Alvear fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
