When Itajaí Football Club's Gilberto Arce, in the 4th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Itajaí Football Club. Francisco Gallo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 6 minutes into the match. Camilo Freixa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Severo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camilo Freixa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelinho de Salles's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. In the 18th minute Marcelinho de Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Freixa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfonso de la Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Marcelo Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonardo Varela hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. The Itajaí Football Club fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Itajaí Football Club's Marcelinho de Salles looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Camilo Freixa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcelinho de Salles struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Camilo Freixa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itajaí Football Club. Camilo Freixa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilberto Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Bolivia's zone, Conrado Miranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Camilo Freixa came out of the goal and Conrado Miranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute Conrado Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Freixa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Camilo Freixa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Miranda in the 44th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelinho de Salles in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Camilo Freixa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half Itajaí Football Club were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredo Ferrant made a kick off. Gilberto Arce struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Camilo Freixa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itajaí Football Club. If Gilberto Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 56 in the game by Marcelinho de Salles from a close distance when the talented Camilo Freixa managed to make a qualified save. Bolivia's players were relieved. With a little luck, Bolivia's Camilo Freixa got control of the ball when Gilberto Arce tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Camilo Freixa managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Itajaí Football Club's Marcelinho de Salles fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Bolivia's Alfredo Ferrant got a free kick in the 64th minute. Alfredo Ferrant hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Itajaí Football Club's Camilo Freixa threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carlos Eduardo da Costa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Itajaí Football Club's Leonardo Varela got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bolivia's Camilo Freixa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Bolivia from getting a goal against them. 76 minutes into the match, Bolivia's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Miranda came free, but Camilo Freixa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Conrado Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79thth minute of the game Carlos Eduardo da Costa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bolivia's Camilo Freixa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Leonardo Varela came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Itajaí Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonardo Varela couldn't finish the play.
