With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francisco Seco in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stanislav Dvorskiy saved Resistencia Tayrona FC from getting behind. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanislav Dvorskiy having to interfere. A hard shot 18 in the game by Victorino Bonifaco from a close distance when the talented Joaquin Gayoso managed to make a qualified save. Uruguay's players were relieved. After 21 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Sainz. Benedict Baird received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Victorino Bonifaco dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Joaquin Gayoso, 1-0. Victorino Bonifaco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 29th minute of play forced Resistencia Tayrona FC's goalkeeper Stanislav Dvorskiy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stanislav Dvorskiy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Victorino Bonifaco came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Joaquin Gayoso could save by the left post. 2-0 became the score in the 46th minute when Benedict Baird elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victorino Bonifaco to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Victorino Bonifaco put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Resistencia Tayrona FC made a substitution. Leonides Rioja replaced Maore Tejerina. Stanislav Dvorskiy came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano. But to his dismay, Maximiliano Escribano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. After 67 minutes Resistencia Tayrona FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jaime Cazalla who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla to fire away a dangerous shot which Stanislav Dvorskiy despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Francisco Seco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stanislav Dvorskiy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Maximiliano Escribano scored 3-2 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Stanislav Dvorskiy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 80 minutes into the match, Resistencia Tayrona FC's Victorino Bonifaco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Taurino Hernaiz put it in 4-2 from a short distance just to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. In the 88th match minute, Resistencia Tayrona FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonides Rioja to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the game, Xusto Lasquibar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Resistencia Tayrona FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uruguay the free kick. After a rather tough play, Resistencia Tayrona FC's Xusto Lasquibar got a free kick in the 91st minute. Jaime Cazalla struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Stanislav Dvorskiy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. In the 94th minute, Bruno Beldad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 97th minute, Taurino Hernaiz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Resistencia Tayrona FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, Resistencia Tayrona FC could leave the field as winners, despite Uruguay having more of the ball for most of the match.
