Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Inter de Guayaquil FC's Éric Cantona started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Éric Cantona took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Colombia's attentive Kevin Mastache managed to snatch the ball when Hector Andriesens made a throw-in in the 17th minute of the game. Sebastian Hellkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 20th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Abram Sarmiento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sebastian Hellkvist was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Colombia's attentive Antonio Indiano managed to snatch the ball when Hector Andriesens made a throw-in in the 22nd minute of the game. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Éric Cantona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abram Sarmiento in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastian Hellkvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Colombia's Abram Sarmiento in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santino Seco got free with Sebastian Hellkvist in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Xavier Zanetti kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match.

Inter de Guayaquil FC made a substitution. Zé Pedro Baptista replaced Humberto Barragan. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sebastian Hellkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Mastache, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Pedro Manzanares was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jörn Svartengren showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 58 minute of play. Hector Andriesens made in the 60th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. Sebastian Hellkvist came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Colombia's Axel Montenegro. But to his dismay, Axel Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. The audience was convinced that Axel Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sebastian Hellkvist was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. In the 70th minute, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Jörn Svartengren ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-4. Sebastian Hellkvist came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Colombia's Santino Seco. But to his dismay, Santino Seco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Jörn Svartengren tried to sneak it across the goal line. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Sebastian Hellkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santino Seco in the 83rd minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Colombia's Abram Secada sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastian Hellkvist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 85 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Lorenzo Acutain came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
