In the 42nd minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 45 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ingmar Kracke who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Resistencia Tayrona FC's corner Ingmar Kracke fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. Ingmar Kracke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Taurino Hernaiz's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Taurino Hernaiz helped the player get up and apologised. Taurino Hernaiz kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Ingmar Kracke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Ingmar Kracke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ingmar Kracke hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Resistencia Tayrona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingmar Kracke didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Leonides Rioja stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Leonides Rioja tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Resistencia Tayrona FC's Ingmar Kracke was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Resistencia Tayrona FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
