But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Benedict Baird had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guillermo Mariano kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Stanislav Dvorskiy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stanislav Dvorskiy having to make a save. Stanislav Dvorskiy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 34th minute of play. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Benedict Baird got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 1-2. The supporters of Resistencia Tayrona FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benedict Baird in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victorino Bonifaco was the one to do the kick off. Alessandro Manzanal hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stanislav Dvorskiy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Resistencia Tayrona FC made a substitution. Taurino Hernaiz replaced Benedict Baird. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorino Bonifaco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Victorino Bonifaco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victorino Bonifaco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, Victorino Bonifaco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Taurino Hernaiz's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. After 81 minutes, Mihnea Vasilian mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Resistencia Tayrona FC and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 94th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Victorino Bonifaco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
