Nemesio Baladi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nemesio Baladi having to make a save. 20 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nemesio Baladi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sabri Taci. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nemesio Baladi saved 『挑战者』太平·一生铭记≮浙≯ from getting behind. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute. Nemesio Baladi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sabri Taci could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. László Várdai might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. László Várdai ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 47 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The 『挑战者』太平·一生铭记≮浙≯ players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nemesio Baladi. That made the score 0-4 in the 78 minute of play. In the 81st minute, Juan Sebastián Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. László Várdai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. After having played for 90 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Agustín Saelices managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than 『挑战者』太平·一生铭记≮浙≯ throughout the match.
