Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Daniel Zorita got the match started through his kick off. After some careless play in the Santa Maradona defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Errapel. The Santa Maradona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Errapel should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Santa Maradona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Ibar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Errapel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Errapel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Santa Maradona's Jonathan Errapel did a great save. If Miguel Transito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Santa Maradona's Corneliu Văcăroiu got a free kick in the 26th minute. Santa Maradona's Jonathan Errapel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 28th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Luis Andino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Errapel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Santa Maradona's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Errapel came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Errapel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of the match. Jonathan Errapel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Santa Maradona's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Jonathan Errapel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Haroldo Martxot sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ecuador's Julio Vera didn't even have to move. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Jonathan Errapel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Miguel Transito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodolfo Cordeiro succeeded in the game's 62nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-3. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Santa Maradona fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when Santa Maradona's Rodolfo Cordeiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jonathan Errapel made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Rodolfo Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Transito in the 84th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Cristian Sancho could shoot a difficult shot in the 86th minute, which Jonathan Errapel however easily saved by the left post. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Santa Maradona's Jonathan Errapel managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 89th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Cordeiro in the 93rd minute of play. Rodolfo Cordeiro took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
