After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastian Frey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastian Frey having to make a save. Tomas Illescas charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tomas Illescas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tomas Illescas kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Sebastian Frey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 30th minute of the match. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Pacífico FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kerry Flöter didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. The supporters of Pacífico FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Pacífico FC's Sebastian Frey got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ismael Atauri hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Severino Mano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The throw-in from Ismael Atauri in the 68th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Alex Chicote. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerry Flöter in the 76th minute of play. Pacífico FC's attentive Ismael Atauri managed to snatch the ball when Salvador Gisbert made a throw-in in the 79th minute of the game. After 80 played minutes Pacífico FC got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Atauri. After having played for 81 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 83rd minute of play forced Pacífico FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Frey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Sebastian Frey made a huge save. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Pacífico FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Venezuela for much of the match.
