The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano van Beek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Domingo Bulnes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 16th minute of play forced ✪ XV de Umarizal's goalkeeper Domingo Bulnes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Domingo Bulnes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 44 played minutes ✪ XV de Umarizal got a freekick which was hit by Naldo Passos. In the 47th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adriano van Beek was the one to do the kick off. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Domingo Bulnes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 64th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Domingo Bulnes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by ✪ XV de Umarizal's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Cristian Sanchos short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Domingo Bulnes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Adriano van Beek's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Domingo Bulnes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Ecuador booed when ✪ XV de Umarizal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naldo Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. ✪ XV de Umarizal's Lionel 梅西 was substituted for Adriano van Beek. ✪ XV de Umarizal made a substitution. Damian Ostrowski replaced Allan Winström. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lionel 梅西 in the 76th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lionel 梅西, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Anderson Passos was slow to take the kick. During this time ✪ XV de Umarizal's players had a chance to rest. The corner led ✪ XV de Umarizal's Anderson Passos to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 90th minute Lionel 梅西 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Primitivo Andino during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of ✪ XV de Umarizal booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ✪ XV de Umarizal throughout the match.
