A collision led to Pelotines Sporting getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Rodolfo Jago hit a great ball. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascual Llin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paraguay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Pascual Llin scored to the left of an out of position Jacobo Nores, making the score, 2-1. With a little luck, Paraguay's Jacobo Nores got control of the ball when Joaquim Carlos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Basilio Paul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 42nd minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pascual Llin was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hector Covarrubias got free with Basilio Paul in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pascual Llin kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Hector Covarrubias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pascual Llin during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 73rd minute, Pascual Llin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hector Covarrubias who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Basilio Paul when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Carlos in the 79th minute of the match. When Hector Covarrubias fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paraguay's protests and gave Hector Covarrubias a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Pelotines Sporting was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celedonio Frederik didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Celedonio Frederik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a free kick in the 94th minute.
